Most DOP-C02 questions are long, multi-paragraph scenarios describing a real AWS architecture, then ask for the most operationally sound, secure, or cost-effective solution. Several plausible answers are usually "correct" — only one is best. You can flag questions and return to them, so a first pass plus a review pass is the standard strategy inside the 180 minutes.
Your result is a single scaled score from 100 to 1,000 using compensatory scoring — you do not have to pass each domain individually, only reach 750 overall. AWS reports a simple pass or fail plus your score; a section-level performance summary shows where you were stronger or weaker but does not change the result. There is no penalty for wrong answers, so never leave a question blank.

Two ways to sit the exam — and what to expect on test day
