Two Tracks, One Decision: IT4IT Foundation or IT4IT 3

The Open Group's IT4IT certification program covers two bodies of knowledge: IT4IT Foundation, based on the IT4IT Standard Version 2.1, and IT4IT 3 Foundation, based on the IT4IT Standard Version 3.0 — the reference architecture for managing digital. Both are Foundation-level, both are 40 questions in 60 minutes at a 65% pass mark, and neither has prerequisites.

Both IT4IT exams publish the same shape: 40 questions, 60 minutes, multiple choice, closed book, no prerequisites, and a 65% pass mark - 26 of 40. The difference between the two tracks is the body of knowledge, not the difficulty: OG0-061/C61 covers the IT4IT Standard v2.1 and OGIT-101 covers v3.0, each with its own published per-unit question weighting.

IT4IT Part 1 (exam OG0-061 in English, OG0-C61 in Simplified Chinese) weights its syllabus across the classic model: Basic Concepts and IT4IT Core carry eight questions each, the four value streams — Strategy to Portfolio, Requirement to Deploy, Request to Fulfill, Detect to Correct — carry five each, and the overview unit four.

IT4IT 3 Foundation (exam OGIT-101, English) re-frames the same manage-the-business-of-IT model around digital products: the Digital Product unit carries eight questions, the Digital Product Backbone seven, the Service Offer Backbone six, and the value-stream units two each. Passing either exam earns its respective Foundation certification.

Test Center or OnVUE: Supervised Either Way

Per The Open Group's examinations summary, both IT4IT exams are delivered at Authorized Examination Provider test centers and remotely by OnVUE delivery. Both are supervised and closed book, and both are multiple choice.

The Open Group publishes both delivery routes: supervised test-center sittings and OnVUE online proctoring. The at-home route carries Pearson's standard published minimums - Windows 10 or macOS 14 or higher, working webcam, microphone and speaker with no headphones, one display only, at least 6 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up, every other application closed - with virtual machines, VPNs, and smart devices prohibited, and check-in photos plus a 360-degree room scan before the exam unlocks.

The remote route makes your room and connection part of the exam; the center route trades travel for a controlled environment. Booking runs through Pearson VUE, and the fee you pay depends on how you book: the Pearson exam booking fee by credit card, or a retail voucher bought through The Open Group Shop.

For candidates on an employer deadline, we pick the track and the delivery mode against the soonest appointment you can reliably keep, then work the environment checklist until check-in is routine.

What IT4IT Costs on the Current Fee Schedule

The Open Group's retail fee schedule, applicable from 1 February 2026, prices IT4IT Part 1 (OG0-061/C61) at USD 375 as a Pearson exam booking fee, or USD 400 as a retail voucher. IT4IT 3 Foundation (OGIT-101) sits one band higher at USD 405 booking or USD 435 voucher. Prices are in USD, and local taxes can apply by country.

The fee schedule is published and version-dependent: OG0-061/C61 lists at USD 375 booked directly or USD 400 as a voucher, and OGIT-101 at USD 405 booked or USD 435 as a voucher, applicable from 1 February 2026 with taxes possibly extra and fees subject to change without notice. The voucher premium buys scheduling flexibility, not a better pass mark - the bar is 26 of 40 either way.

There is no combined IT4IT exam the way TOGAF offers one — each Foundation track stands alone, and passing one does not discount the other. A failed sitting re-buys the exam at the same figure.

Corrections to the schedule were applied 12 February 2026, and The Open Group reserves the right to change fees without notice — which is why this page re-verifies the schedule before every sitting we book.

Where IT4IT Attempts Actually Fail

Pattern one is the version trap: OG0-061/C61 tests the IT4IT Standard v2.1 and OGIT-101 tests v3.0. Preparing against the wrong version's value streams and reference architecture wastes the whole attempt - the two standards describe the business of IT differently.

Pattern two is the pace: 40 questions in 60 minutes is 90 seconds each, and the 65% bar means 14 misses end the attempt. The exam is closed book; recall, not lookup speed, is what the clock measures.

Pattern three is the room: an unmet OnVUE minimum forfeits the sitting fee before the first question. The System Test on the same device and network, a cleared desk, and no VPN are the cheapest insurance on a USD 375-435 attempt.

How Take-My-IT4IT Support Actually Works

1

Send the brief

Your role, which track your employer named — Foundation (OG0-061) or IT4IT 3 (OGIT-101) — your window, and your deadline.

2

Feasibility in plain terms

We confirm the current exam summary and fee schedule against The Open Group's live pages, pick the delivery mode and appointment, and tell you honestly if the date is wrong.

3

Environment and identity prep

Room, hardware, ID documents, and the Pearson VUE check-in flow rehearsed until nothing on exam day is improvised.

4

The sitting

Your IT4IT sitting is handled end to end by a specialist who works the value-stream and digital-product models for a living.

5

Result, then invoice

The service fee is due only after the agreed result posts. If the pass does not post, there is no service fee.

What You Get

Track verification

OG0-061 versus OGIT-101 confirmed against what your employer or job listing actually named — the single most common IT4IT booking error, eliminated at intake.

Current-format confirmation

Every format, fee, and policy line on this page re-verified against The Open Group's official examinations summary and fee schedule on 26 August 2026.

Delivery-mode planning

OnVUE at home versus a test center decided on your room, hardware, ID, and appointment availability — not habit.

Check-in rehearsal

The supervised check-in sequence walked through in advance so exam-day administration takes minutes, not nerves.

Fee-route advice

Pearson booking fee versus Open Group Shop retail voucher priced for your country before anything is booked.

Is This Safe, and How Discretion Works

Discretion is operational, not theatrical. Communication stays on your chosen channel, nothing posts publicly, and your Pearson VUE details are used for your sitting and nothing else.

If something about your situation makes the sitting a bad risk — a deadline with no appointment availability, ID that will not pass verification, an unusable home setup — we say so at intake, not after.

Pay After You Pass

An IT4IT attempt costs $375 to $405 before any service conversation begins. Our side is simple: the service fee is due only after the agreed result posts — never before, never in installments that happen to start early.

We do not promise a specific score. We promise the current format, a prepared sitting, and a fee that exists only on a pass.

Candidate Feedback

My employer said 'IT4IT Foundation' and the job listing said nothing else. The track check caught that they meant OGIT-101, the sitting went end to end as planned, and the invoice came after the pass.
IT operations manager, telecom
Forty questions in sixty minutes sounds easy until the value-stream scenarios start. The IT4IT exam was handled, the result posted, and only then did the fee move.
Enterprise architect, consulting
OnVUE from my home office, check-in rehearsed the day before. Boring exam morning — which was exactly the point.
