What Each QRadar V7.5 Exam Actually Tests
Foundations (C1000-175) is the breadth exam: 62 questions, 41 to pass, across fourteen sections running from SIEM concepts and QRadar architecture through rules and building blocks, offenses, AQL search, assets, reporting, and user management. It is the credential for people new to the product who need to prove baseline fluency.
Administration (C1000-156) is the operator's exam: 62 questions, 38 to pass, across eight sections covering system configuration, performance optimization, data source configuration, accuracy tuning, user management, reporting and offense management, tenants and domains, and troubleshooting. IBM's own page states it plainly: 'Extensive hands-on product knowledge is required to pass the test.'
Analysis (C1000-162) is the SOC analyst's exam — 64 questions, 41 to pass, across five sections: offense analysis, rules and building block design, threat hunting, dashboard management, and searching and reporting. Deployment (C1000-163) is the implementer's exam — 63 questions, 42 to pass, across nine sections including architecture and sizing, event and flow integration, X-Force integration, migration and upgrades, and multi-tenancy. Note the codes: Analysis credential C9005200 replaced C9002900, and Deployment credential C9005100 replaced C9003100 — if your requirement cites the old codes, you need the current V7.5 exams.
OnVUE at Home or a Test Center: Your Room or Theirs
Pearson VUE's IBM program page states the options directly: IBM certification exams can be taken 'in person at a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center or online with OnVUE in the comfort and privacy of your home.' All four QRadar V7.5 exams appear in Pearson VUE's IBM exam catalog under the Security group.
The at-home route runs under Pearson VUE's published OnVUE requirements: Windows 10 or macOS 14 or higher, a working webcam, microphone, and speaker with no headphones, one display only, a stable connection of at least 6 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up, and the ability to close every application except OnVUE. Virtual machines, VPNs, phones, watches, and smart devices with recording or AI features are prohibited.
Same exams, same questions, same passing marks. The difference is that your room becomes part of the sitting — check-in includes photos of you and your ID and a 360-degree room view. SOC staff working rotating shifts tend to prefer OnVUE for the scheduling freedom; candidates with shared or noisy spaces do better booking a center.
