CrowdStrike's CCSE Certification Guide states the exam is a 60-question assessment.
90 minutes total, per the same official exam guide - about 90 seconds per question.
The CrowdStrike Falcon Certification Program guide lists $250 per exam, voucher via your CrowdStrike sales representative or online at Pearson.
All CrowdStrike certifications are valid three years; recertification means passing the most current version of the exam.
What the CCSE Exam Actually Tests
CCSE is the engineer credential in CrowdStrike's role-based Falcon Certification Program, directed at security engineers and other professionals implementing and managing CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen SIEM to support security operations. The official exam guide describes an engineer who understands the platform's key features and role-based access permissions and uses them to configure, navigate, and manage SIEM workflows effectively.
The guide's successful-candidate profile is build-side work, not alert-triage work: onboarding and integrating third-party data sources using data connectors, the Falcon Log Collector, and other supported ingestion methods; handling parsing and log management across collection, normalization, retention, and disposal; writing basic CrowdStrike Query Language (CQL) to retrieve, analyze, and filter security data; and monitoring and troubleshooting log ingestion issues when data stops flowing.
The published scope lands in five areas: User Management, Data Ingestion, Parsing, Content Creation, and Automation and Integration. The objectives go deep where working engineers live - creating custom roles, sizing and deploying the Falcon Log Collector, cloning and modifying default parsers, building custom and AI-generated parsers, creating and tuning correlation rules, and reaching Falcon Fusion SOAR workflows, API access tokens, and FalconPy for automation.
One honesty note: CrowdStrike does not publish a numeric passing score. The exam guide says only that candidates must 'achieve a passing score.' Anyone who quotes you an exact CCSE pass percentage is guessing.
OnVUE at Home or a Pearson Testing Center
Pearson VUE's CrowdStrike program page states the delivery plainly: the certification programs are 'delivered by Pearson either online (OnVUE) or at a Pearson testing center'. Both routes are open for CCSE, and scheduling happens through your Pearson account with a credit card or an exam voucher.
The at-home route carries Pearson's published OnVUE requirements: Windows 10 or macOS 14 or higher, a working webcam, microphone, and speaker with no headphones, one display only, at least 6 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up, and the ability to close every application except OnVUE. Virtual machines, phones, tablets, smart devices with recording or AI features, and secondary displays are prohibited. Pearson is explicit that failing the requirements on exam day can mean immediate cancellation and forfeiture of the exam fee - run the system test on the exact device and network you will use.
What the CCSE Attempt Costs
The program guide is blunt about pricing: each CrowdStrike certification exam costs $250 USD. You buy the voucher through your CrowdStrike sales representative or online at Pearson, and every registrant must accept the CrowdStrike Certification Exam Agreement and be at least 18 years old - no exceptions.
Retakes cost the full $250 again, and the retake policy has teeth. After a failed first attempt you wait 48 hours. After the second, the wait is seven days for the third and later attempts. A fourth failure for performance reasons means a 30-day wait, retaking the recommended training, and a review with the CrowdStrike Certification Manager before a fifth attempt is even approved. Retakes beyond the fourth attempt are case-by-case, and CrowdStrike reserves the right to deny them. A failed exam is therefore not just a fee problem - it is a calendar problem, which is exactly what a handled sitting removes.

Safety, Risk, and Straight Talk
CrowdStrike's exam guide is direct about misconduct: CrowdStrike may invalidate scores and treat suspicious action as a violation of the Certification Exam Agreement, and exam challenges must be filed within three days. Any provider who pretends those enforcement lines do not exist is not being honest with you.
What we control is the quality, discretion, and privacy of the engagement: an honest feasibility answer before anything starts, a structured execution plan, and a fee that follows the result. If your situation makes the service a bad fit, we tell you before you spend anything.
Pay After the Pass Posts
The payment model is the service. You do not pay the service fee upfront and hope. Exam Assist handles your CCSE sitting end to end, and the service fee is due only after the agreed result posts in your Pearson score report.
That structure is deliberate. It moves the risk off your side of the table and onto ours, and it keeps the engagement honest: if the agreed result does not post, the service fee does not either.
Candidate Feedback
I own our SIEM data pipeline and CCSE was the credential my director wanted. They verified the format against CrowdStrike's guide, handled the sitting, and I paid after the pass posted.
Parsing and log ingestion are my day job; exam logistics are not. Having the CCSE sitting handled end to end turned a months-long postponement into a posted result.
The CCSE retake rules were the decider. A failed exam would have cost me $250 and a 48-hour delay minimum. The fee-after-result model made the decision easy.
