After your course, Scrum Alliance emails an account-activation link. You log in to the member portal and take the 50-question test in any modern browser — no testing centre, no Pearson VUE or Prometric appointment, and no separate exam fee for your first two attempts.
Unlike a CCNA or AWS exam, the CSM test has no webcam monitoring, no AI proctor, and no lockdown browser. There is no room scan or ID check on test day — identity is established through the mandatory course and your verified Scrum Alliance account.
Your 16-hour CST-led course is what unlocks the test. Attendance is tracked by the trainer, who reports completion to Scrum Alliance before the activation email is sent.
