As a role-based exam, DP-700 gives you limited, split-screen access to Microsoft Learn documentation during the test. Because the three domains are weighted almost evenly, a lopsided profile can cap your total. Strong ingestion skills won't rescue you if you can't secure a workspace or debug a failing Eventstream. The published 30–35% ranges mean roughly a third of your questions come from each area — plan your prep the same way.
Two ways to sit the exam — and what to expect on test day
You schedule DP-700 through Pearson VUE and sit it in a quiet, monitored room. Staff verify your government-issued ID, store your belongings, and supervise the session. Scratch material and the on-screen split with Microsoft Learn are provided. The exam fee is about $165 USD, scaled to the country in which you test.
You take the exam from a private room at home through Pearson VUE's OnVUE remote proctoring. Beforehand you run a system compatibility check, complete a webcam room scan, and pass a government photo ID verification.
