Almost every question was a multi-sentence scenario describing a workload, a constraint (latency, cost, durability, compliance), and several plausible AWS approaches. With 180 minutes for 65 questions you had roughly 2 minutes 45 seconds each — comfortable on paper, but the reading load and "best answer" nuance made pacing a real factor.
There was no penalty for wrong answers, so leaving anything blank only cost you. The reported 100–1000 score used compensatory scoring: strength in one domain could offset weakness in another, and only the 750 overall threshold decided pass or fail. How DBS-C01 was delivered — and what test day looked like
You sat the exam in a quiet, monitored room at a Pearson VUE center. Staff verified two valid forms of ID, stored your belongings, and provided an on-screen whiteboard. No personal notes, phones, or smartwatches were permitted inside.
You could also take DBS-C01 from home through OnVUE, Pearson VUE's remote-proctoring platform. It required a system check, a webcam room scan, an ID capture, and a stable connection. A live online proctor monitored the session through the OnVUE secure browser.
