How much does a UiPath certification exam cost?
UiPath publishes two exam prices across the Certified Professional program: US$150 per attempt for every Associate-level exam and US$300 per attempt for every Professional-level exam, plus any local taxes. In the program overview's Learning Credit terms, an Associate exam costs 1 Learning Credit and a Professional exam costs 2 Learning Credits, and candidates testing in Japan see 21,000 yen and 42,000 yen respectively.
The one structural exception is the Infrastructure Engineer Professional - Standalone credential, which requires two exams: a US$300 performance-based first part and a US$150 second part that mixes 30 multiple-choice items with 2 performance-based items.
Every figure here comes from UiPath's official program overview (October 2025), the Policies and Guidelines (v1.7, February 2025), and the Certifications FAQ - all retrieved today. Where UiPath does not publish a number, this page says so instead of inventing one.
Every Published UiPath Exam Fee in One Table
Read the table as per-attempt pricing before local taxes. The Learning Credits column comes from the program overview's own listing, and the level column is what sets the price: every Associate-level exam is US$150 and every Professional-level exam is US$300, regardless of track.
Two timing notes matter when you budget. The Software Testing Engineer Professional exam retired with exams available through August 15, 2026, replaced by the Test Cloud Architect Professional certification that launched May 13, 2026 - so the testing track's price rows belong to the new credential's own listing. And the legacy UiRPA and UiARD certifications stop being recognized on October 15, 2026, which turns renewal into a fresh attempt at the prices below.
| Certification | Level | Exam fee | Learning Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agentic Automation Associate | Associate | US$150 | 1 |
| Automation Developer Associate (UiPath-ADAv1) | Associate | US$150 | 1 |

The Retake Math: Every Attempt Pays Full Price
UiPath's retake policy is published and identical across the program: If you do not pass on the first attempt, you wait two weeks to retake the exam; from the third attempt on, you wait at least one month between retakes, and every attempt pays the full exam fee. In dollar terms, a failed Automation Developer Professional attempt followed by a passed second sitting costs US$600 in exam fees; two failures before a pass costs US$900.
The cancellation rules are the silent budget item. Rescheduling or cancelling requires at least 48 hours before the appointment through the Pearson VUE account; inside 48 hours, or a no-show, forfeits the entire exam fee. OnVUE adds its own edge: log in 30 minutes early, because more than 15 minutes late after the scheduled time means you cannot begin and are unlikely to receive a refund.
Delivery is identical at both price levels, stated word-for-word in UiPath's Policies and Guidelines: Exams are offered in secure proctored environments at Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide as well as remotely proctored exams (OnVUE) at your private location.
Vouchers, Learning Credits, and the 50% Student Discount
Vouchers are pre-paid exam fees bought from the UiPath Marketplace, useful for teams or for candidates in countries where a US$ card payment is awkward. Once issued, a voucher is valid for 12 months with no extension policy - UiPath's FAQ is explicit that expired vouchers stay expired. Organizations certifying 100 or more professionals can email the UiPath Certified Professional program office for a special bulk discount.
Payment methods at Pearson VUE include credit card (American Express, MasterCard, Visa), with cash and personal checks listed as options that vary by country, and exam fees may be subject to local taxes on top of the published figure. Candidates testing in Japan see listed yen pricing: 21,000 yen for Associate and 42,000 yen for Professional exams.
The one standing discount is for full-time students at UiPath Academic Alliance partner universities: 50% off exam fees, delivered as vouchers through the educator or administrator who manages the partnership, with a three-month validity and no extension. Holders of unused legacy vouchers are covered too: UiPath honors valid UiARD vouchers toward the Automation Developer Professional exam, and UiRPA vouchers toward the Associate, at the coverage level originally purchased.
The Three-Year Validity and the October 2026 UiARD Deadline
Every UiPath Certified Professional credential is valid for three years from the date it was achieved. UiPath's policies frame renewal as keeping pace with new exam versions as they are introduced, so the renewal budget is a fresh per-attempt fee - US$150 or US$300 - every three years per credential you keep current.
The hard date on the calendar belongs to the legacy track: UiARD and UiRPA certifications, retired October 13, 2023, remain recognized only until October 15, 2026. After that date the credentials cease to validate, and remaining current means passing a qualifying exam in the current program - the Automation Developer Professional for the UiARD crowd, the Automation Developer Associate for UiRPA holders.
Which UiPath Exam Should You Budget For?
The developer track is the program's spine: the Automation Developer Associate at US$150 feeds the Automation Developer Professional at US$300, and the Professional (or a still-recognized legacy UiARD) is the published prerequisite for the Automation Solution Architect Professional at US$300. A full developer-track climb budgets US$450 to US$750 in exam fees before retakes.
The parallel tracks keep the same price pattern. The business analyst pair runs US$150 for the Associate and US$300 for the Professional; the Specialized AI pair does the same for document-understanding and communications-mining specialists; the Agentic Automation Associate at US$150 is the program's gentlest entry; and the infrastructure route splits between the single-exam Automation Suite credential at US$300 and the two-exam Standalone credential at US$300 plus US$150.
For most candidates the practical question is which single credential the next review cycle expects. The developer pair's format, domains, and delivery are mapped in the UiPath Developer Professional exam explainer and the UiPath Developer Associate exam explainer.
What a UiPath Certification Actually Costs You
The realistic budgets: a clean first-attempt pass costs US$150 or US$300 plus tax; one failed attempt doubles the exam spend; a Professional credential with one retake runs US$600 before you count preparation time. Vouchers expire in 12 months, the 48-hour rule forfeits full fees on short-notice changes, and renewal re-spends the attempt every three years.
If the fee stack is not the obstacle - the calendar is - Exam Assist handles the UiPath exam sitting end to end, and the service fee is due only after the agreed result posts. The developer-track pages: take my UiPath Developer Professional exam and take my UiPath Developer Associate exam.
