How much does a Snowflake certification cost?
The vendor publishes a three-tier ladder: SnowPro Core costs 175 USD per exam attempt, SnowPro Specialty exams cost 225 USD, and SnowPro Advanced exams cost 375 USD. Exams delivered in India receive a 20 percent regional discount - the vendor's per-exam pages confirm the math on the two flagship sittings: Core at 140 USD and the Advanced Data Engineer exam at 300 USD.
Every attempt is charged in full. The vendor's FAQ states that candidates must pay for every exam attempt at registration, and its policies add the ceilings: a given exam can be attempted at most four times in any 12-month period, with a mandatory seven-day wait between attempts. There are no free retakes and no retake discounts anywhere in the program.
| Tier | Fee per attempt | India (20% regional discount) |
|---|---|---|
| SnowPro Core (COF-C03) | $175 | $140 |
| SnowPro Specialty (Snowpark, Native Apps, Gen AI) | $225 | 20% off list |
| SnowPro Advanced (Architect, Data Engineer, Administrator, MLOps Engineer, and siblings) | $375 | $300 confirmed for DEA-C02 |

What does a retake actually cost?
Full price, every time. The vendor's policy leaves no room for interpretation: each exam attempt requires the full payment of the exam fee, and there are no free retakes or discounts on retakes. After any failed attempt you wait seven days before re-attempting, and the same seven-day wait applies to every further failure.
The ceiling matters as much as the price. A given exam allows four retakes in a 12-month period - so a worst-case Core year is the first attempt plus four retakes, which at 175 USD apiece totals 875 USD of exam fees. At the Advanced tier the same ceiling multiplies to 1,875 USD. The pass-first-time value of real preparation - or of a handled sitting - is written directly into that arithmetic.
Violations are expensive in a different currency: the vendor invalidates results found in breach of the retake policy, candidates who create multiple profiles to dodge it have all exams invalidated and all fees forfeited, and repeat violators can be permanently banned from the program.
What do schedule changes cost?
The reschedule economics split by delivery route. Testing-center bookings must be rescheduled or canceled at least 24 hours before the appointment - inside that window the exam fee is forfeited. Online OnVUE bookings are more forgiving: you can reschedule or cancel without additional fees anytime before the scheduled appointment time, but nothing can be changed after it, and a missed appointment forfeits the fee.
There is also a structural limit: a given exam can be rescheduled up to four times, and after the fourth reschedule you must cancel and re-register. Voucher buyers get no relief either - all voucher purchases are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable, and voucher expiration dates cannot be extended under any circumstances. One voucher applies to one exam registration, valid only at Pearson VUE.
What do the official practice exams cost - and what are the traps?
Snowflake sells official SnowPro Practice Exams built on the same specifications and domain weightings as the live exams, covering Core, Architect, Security Engineer, Data Engineer, Administrator, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, MLOps Engineer, Snowpark, Native Apps, and Gen AI in English. They are unproctored assessments - delivered online without human supervision, in the vendor's own FAQ definition.
The traps are in the fine print of the practice-exam page: once purchased, you have 24 hours to access and complete the practice exam; it can be taken only once and cannot be retaken once submitted; and if you do not access it inside the 24-hour window, you forfeit the registration fee and cannot re-register until 48 hours after the original purchase. Treat it as a single-shot dress rehearsal on a timer, not a study library.
Are there discounts or promotions?
Two live ones, both dated and both bounded. The vendor's certifications catalog retrieved 2026-10-21 shows the new SnowPro MLOps Engineer Certification live with a 100-dollar discount code, MLOPSENGADV26, applied at registration - a launch promotion on one specific exam, not a program-wide cut.
Separately, Pearson's Snowflake program page carries a banner for Pearson's limited-time Global Retake offer: exams scheduled, paid, and taken between September 29 and November 17, 2026 may qualify for one free retake taken between January 4 and April 7, 2027 - for participating programs. The offer's own page says to verify that your program participates before counting on it, so treat the banner as a lead, not a promise, and confirm Snowflake's participation on the offer page before you plan around it.
What does keeping the certification cost?
Every Snowflake certification expires two years after it is awarded, so the exam fee is a cycle cost, not a one-time purchase. The vendor's policies page gives two renewal pathways: earn an equivalent or higher level certification, or complete one Snowflake instructor-led training course - and either must happen before the expiration date to count. You can also retake the full exam from six months before expiry.
One rule rewards depth: earning a second credential at the same level extends all active credentials you hold at that level and below, including Core and any Specialty certifications. The expensive failure mode is letting the date pass - an expired certification cannot be renewed through the continuing-education program at all, and you start again at SnowPro Core or a Specialty, at full fee.
The short version
The published ladder is Core 175 USD, Specialty 225 USD, Advanced 375 USD per attempt, with a 20 percent regional discount in India; every attempt is full price, retakes cap at four in twelve months with seven-day waits, practice exams are single-shot products on a 24-hour timer, vouchers are final sale, and every certification expires on a two-year clock - all from the vendor's own pages, retrieved 2026-10-21.
If the fees are clear and the sitting is the problem, Exam Assist handles Snowflake exam sittings end to end - the account, the delivery choice, the system checks, and the proctored exam - and the service fee is due only after the agreed result posts.
