What is Proctortrack?

The four proctoring levels

Proctortrack sells four numbered levels. Level 1 is ProctorLock, a smart preventive browser lock with automated identity verification. Level 2 is ProctorAuto, fully automated proctoring with no human intervention. Level 3 is Proctortrack QA, which adds a manual quality-assurance review by certified proctors and is the vendor's most popular option. In plain terms, the ladder is one of human involvement. ProctorLock records the session and locks the browser. ProctorAuto analyzes the recording automatically. Identity verification and check-in

Check-in is biometric and multi-factor. Proctortrack verifies identity with face, ID, and knuckle scans, each measured against a baseline biometric profile stored on file. That baseline is called VeriPass: a profile created from biometric scans of your face and ID, including an ID verification step Proctortrack describes as a globally available identity check that protects against the use of forged documents. The secure-browser layer is a published product called PEBble, short for Proctored Exam-in-Browser. Remote access, personal files, and data retention

Verificient's official answers on access are unusually direct. Proctors do not have access to test-takers' computers; the Proctortrack application does not allow anyone remote access; it captures only the minimum amount of data needed for proctoring; and it does not access personal files. Transparency is part of the design: monitoring is only ever underway when the large blue frame is present around your screen.

The one published exception is technical support. If something breaks, support staff may use a licensed copy of TeamViewer, a common industry tech-support application - but only after you consent and give permission. Verificient states that it documents that consent, that support has limited time and access, that you can watch exactly the steps taken on your screen, and that TeamViewer is closed when the support session ends.

Retention is institutional. Proctortrack states that after processing, proctoring data is purged in accordance with the data retention policy your institution agreed to, so the exact window is a question for your program rather than a single platform-wide number. On compliance, the vendor publishes alignment with SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001, FERPA, SOPIPA, FIPPA, PIPEDA, GDPR, and the ADA.
