What is the format of the CEET exam?
Per the official CertNexus exam details, the CEET exam is 80 items in multiple-choice and multiple-response formats, answered in 120 minutes — and that time includes 10 minutes for reading and signing the Candidate Agreement and reviewing exam instructions. The passing score is 62%. Delivery is in person at a Pearson VUE test center or online via Pearson OnVUE online proctoring, and the exam voucher costs $367.50 at the CertNexus store (sku CNX0012V). The exam launched in October 2020; sunset is TBD. The exam code on the details block is CET-110; the same page also shows CEET-110 in a summary card — both refer to this paper.
What does the CEET exam cover?
CEET — Certified Ethical Emerging Technologist — is CertNexus's vendor-neutral, practitioner-level ethics credential for data-driven technologies such as AI, machine learning, IoT, and data science. The page places it in the Data Ethics and Emerging Technology focus area at practitioner level. There are no scored domain percentages on the exam page.
CertNexus publishes a 10-lesson course outline: introduction to ethics of emerging technologies; identifying ethical risks; ethical reasoning in practice; identifying and mitigating security, privacy, fairness and bias, transparency and explainability, and accountability risks; building an ethical organization; and developing ethical systems in technology-focused organizations. Weight your preparation across that whole sequence rather than chasing percentages that are not published.
The item types matter as much as the topics. Multiple-response questions require every correct option selected, and no partial credit is published — so a half-remembered framework fails the item even if most of your thinking is right.
How much does the CEET exam cost?
The CEET exam voucher is $367.50 on the CertNexus store (sku CNX0012V). Delivery mode on the voucher page is PearsonVUE/OnVUE. There is no published free retake, so a failed first attempt means a second voucher at full price.
Certification runs on a three-year term. To maintain it you either retake the most recent exam version before expiry or earn 90 continuing-education credits (CECs) within the three years — CEET is currently eligible for the CEC route, and candidates on that route must earn at least 30 CECs in each one-year period. Confirm the voucher SKU against CET-110 before you buy; do not assume CAIP or CDSP extras apply.
Can you take the CEET exam at home?
Yes — the official exam details list two options: in person at a Pearson VUE test center, or online via Pearson OnVUE online proctoring. CertNexus also appears on Pearson VUE's OnVUE program catalog, and the store voucher page names PearsonVUE/OnVUE as the delivery mode.
OnVUE means your environment is part of the exam: a private room, a working webcam and microphone, government ID that passes automated verification, and a check-in sequence that photographs your workspace. Vouchers are redeemed against your Pearson VUE scheduling.
For candidates on a role, contract, or AI-governance deadline, the practical decision is which delivery mode has the sooner reliable appointment in your region — then rehearsing the check-in until it is routine. If the exam itself is the blocker rather than the studying, Exam Assist handles the CEET sitting end to end, and the service fee is due only after the agreed result posts.
Who is the CEET for — and who should wait?
CEET fits technology leaders, solution developers, project managers, and policy-adjacent professionals whose roles now ask for a demonstrable, vendor-neutral ethics credential across AI and other data-driven systems. The course outline lists no formal exam prerequisites; prior experience implementing data science, AI, or IoT is encouraged but not required.
Wait if your timeline has no room for environment preparation — the OnVUE checklist is unforgiving at zero hour, and a voucher burned on a failed check-in is gone. If the sitting itself is the blocker, the take-my-CEET service handles it end to end with the fee due only after the pass posts.
